Notice to Mariners No1/2008

A notice to mariners has been issued regarding the installation of a temporary wave sensor on the rear of the Queen Elizabeth berth. A copy of the notice is below:

SCRABSTER HARBOUR TRUST

NOTICE TO MARINERS

NO. 1/2008

SCRABSTER HARBOUR – QUEEN ELIZABETH
RO-RO FERRY BERTH


1. Introduction

On or about 2nd October 2008, a wave logging sensor will be installed on the East face of the Queen Elizabeth Ro-Ro Berth at a position approximately 20 metres from the South end of the Berth.

The wave logging sensor shall consist of a metal frame protruding 6.0 metres from the quay face and approximately 2 metres above Mean High Water Springs. There shall be no parts of the framework below water.

The Wave Logging Sensor shall be in position for a period of approximately 3 months.

A Notice to Mariners shall be issued to confirm when the apparatus has been removed

The structure shall not be lit


For safety reasons all mariners are requested to keep well clear and proceed with caution and at a safe speed when passing within the vicinity of the said works.

Any questions in connection with the proposed investigation works should, in the first instance, be directed to The Harbour Master, Scrabster Harbour Trust.
