A post has arisen for a Port Supervisor at Scrabster Harbour, reporting to the Harbour Master and/or his Deputy for the operational control and conduct of the port during periods of duty. The role calls for management and communication skills and the ability to become a good flexible member of a dedicated team working a 12 hour shift pattern giving 24 hour cover.
Possession of an appropriate Maritime Qualification would be an advantage and the successful applicant must be computer literate and show evidence of strong communication and administrative skills. Must possess a full UK driving licence
Duties would include establishing and maintaining effective working relations with a broad range of shore/seaborne personnel and organisations linked to the harbour and its development will be important. The successful candidate would be expected to undertake further training in the following areas: Port Management, Oil Spill Pollution, Health & Safety, Port Security and Port Marine Safety Code with the aim to give the Harbour Master and/or his Deputy support in these areas taking responsibility for some of these legislative duties.
